It's simple if you have a kitchen with a hole for a microwave then you have two choices a hole with whatever brand you buy stuck in there. On the other hand this makes it like you actually planned in out and had it built in. The dollar amount seems high but think about how much you spend to decorate. I have had several people comment "where did you find the built in microwave." Since we have an older house nobody thought about this but it works without a service call fee. I highly recommend.

Build quality for the product could be slightly improved. A corner or two were slightly bent probably due to factory handling of the soft aluminum. Nothing that can't be fixed with a rubber mallet or a pair of pliers. Otherwise, it's very nice looking. But on to the real problem:
I had a GE Spacemaker II (1.0 cu ft, 800w) that failed. By buying a 1.6 cu ft Panasonic microwave to replace it, I gain larger interior volume and higher power, all at a lower price. Everything's good, except when it comes to this trim kit. GE's trim kit requires a cabinet space of 24 7/8" (W) x 15" (H). Panasonic's trim kit has the same exact width requirements, but it requires a height of 15 5/16". Everything in this trim kit fits in a 15" opening except for the faceplate. And the faceplate would fit, if it weren't for false grills on the backside which have the sole purpose of opposing the last real grills on the top and bottom for a set of unnecessary screws to attach there. If you remove the screws on either the top or bottom's false grill and spend half an hour with a dremel cutting it off in the back, it'll fit in a 15" high cabinet opening. A minor design change to this trim kit would open up the market for this size microwave.

I bought this trim kit to work with a Panasonic NN-SD797S Prestige 1-3/5-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel. The installation instructions are not the greatest, but they do give you the minimum amount of information you need to install the oven successfully.
The frame is made from thick metal stock, so it should be durable. I thought the price seemed kind of high, but now that I have seen the trim kit in person, it is good quality and the price seems justified.
Having installed this item with the Panasonic NN-SD797S microwave oven, I would select them both again. [This trim kit is compatible with several other Panasonic microwave ovens - consult panasonic.com for more information.]
The actual dimensions of the face frame are 26 15/16" wide by 16 7/16" tall.
This kit also includes some metal ducting that attaches to the microwave to channel the exhaust up the back of the microwave, across the top and out through the vent channels in the top of the face frame - screws are included. Excepting the microwave itself, I did not need to buy any additional parts, items, hardware or screws to complete the installation of the frame.
Note: The "official" amazon.com product photo is cut off a bit on both sides. The customer photo posted shows the face frame in its entirety. The face frame comes as single, assembled unit including the sides (with the screw holes that secure the frame to the cabinet) and the top and bottom sections that include the grills.
