I wasn't expecting it to be anything awesome, but it is completely unusable. I posted a couple shots of the moon both with and without the extender. Even besides the picture looking horrible its at best like a 1.1X extender not a 2.2.

I purchased this lens to be able to bring my subject closer for better detail,which it does provide well. For the cost of the item, it works the way it was promised. I got what I needed without rocking my finances. Very affordable, and much smaller than a full size telephoto lens. Much easier to carry, and attach with ease. You can be carrying 2 lens at the same time for multiple different shots. No complains here. Well worth my money.

This was purchased as a gift for a family member that uses a Fuji S100fs. The unit is relatively well constructed but the lens cap is a little bit flimsy. However, for the price you cannot really expect anything better. The glass is quite good, and before gifting the unit for use on the Fuji, I tried it on my daughter's D90 with 18-105mm lens that has the same diameter. As a pro shooter (using a Nikon D3 and pro lenses from Nikon) I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and sharpness of the images.
On the Fuji the unit worked well. It is a bit fiddly to line up the thread and you have to be careful when fitting it. On any zoom less than around 120mm the unit is visible in the viewfinder and in photographs (almost like extreme vignetting), so you have to remove it if you need to capture close-up images - I would include any indoor shooting in this.
I did not get the impression that the unit was giving a 2.2x telephoto. The difference on the 400mm equivalent lens of the Fuji with and without the telephoto lens was not great. Having 2.2x on a 400mm lens should calculate to more than 800mm, and it was nothing close to that. Image quality on the Fuji was OK, but it seemed that the vibration control was less accurate with the telephoto on as I battled to get sharp images, even using a fast shutter and with the help of a monopod.
4 stars because the unit is really cheap, and even though it is not great, it works fine.
